Welcome to OHMO AI. AI is leaving the chat window. It's running labs, opening offices, and learning to see the room you're standing in. The frontier isn't a smarter answer anymore. It's a system that does the work with you.

In today’s newsletter:

  • OpenAI's AI chemist improves a tricky drug-making reaction

  • NVIDIA brings AI agents to AR glasses

  • Perplexity builds a memory system that learns your projects in the background

  • Anthropic opens a Seoul office and goes deep across Korea

OpenAI's AI chemist improves a tricky drug-making reaction

OHMO AI: OpenAI worked with Molecule.one to connect GPT-5.4 to an agentic chemistry system called Maria, then gave it an open goal to improve a reaction. As OpenAI describes it, the model proposed a surprising additive that boosted yields across most of the molecules tested in a known drug-making reaction.

The details:

  • The model targeted Chan-Lam coupling, a reaction used to build carbon-nitrogen bonds common in medicines, and suggested the mild oxidant TEMPO could help.

  • Across two cycles the lab ran 10,080 reactions, with yields improving for 88% of the boronic acids and 83% of the sulfonamides tested.

  • Human chemists repeated the work by hand and confirmed higher yields for 11 of 14 substrate pairs, and the team calls the process near-autonomous because people stayed in the loop throughout.

Why it matters: Drug discovery is bottlenecked by what chemists can actually make in the lab. An AI that proposes real, testable improvements to stubborn reactions could widen the range of medicines scientists are able to explore.

Last week Viktor opened 14 pull requests, closed two month-end books, drafted a board update, deployed three landing pages, and triaged 600 support tickets. From inside Slack and Microsoft Teams. 20,000+ teams now run this way.

NVIDIA

NVIDIA brings AI agents to AR glasses

OHMO AI: NVIDIA has released XR AI in public beta, a developer library for building AI agents that work through AR glasses and other XR devices. As NVIDIA explains, it connects what the glasses see and hear with AI models, enterprise data, and tools so agents can perceive, reason, and act in the flow of real work.

The details:

  • The system ingests video, audio, depth, pose, and sensor data from devices, then pairs it with reasoning models and enterprise knowledge retrieval.

  • Siemens is exploring it so factory engineers can troubleshoot equipment hands-free, while a lab system called LabOS is bringing guidance into stem cell and gene-editing research at Stanford and Princeton labs.

  • It's also being tested in surgery support at a Pittsburgh medical center and in an immersive Titanic experience built by Atlantic Studios.

Why it matters: This is AI stepping off the screen and into the room. Hands-free agents that understand what you're looking at could reshape how work gets done in factories, hospitals, and labs long before they reach your living room.

PERPLEXITY

Perplexity's new AI memory learns your work in the background

OHMO AI: Perplexity has launched Brain, a self-improving memory system that builds a working model of your projects, people, and files so its Computer product has the context to push your work forward. It's rolling out in research preview to Max subscribers, and you can read how it learns on the Perplexity help center.

The details:

  • Brain runs quietly in the background, learning from your sessions, connected tools, files, and corrections, then writing what it learns into Computer's memory.

  • Every entry links back to its source, so you can open it, check it, and edit or delete anything you want.

  • It only learns from your own activity, ignores incognito sessions entirely, and has its own off switch in settings.

Why it matters: Most AI still forgets you the moment you close the tab. A memory that quietly tracks your actual projects is a real shift toward tools that feel less like a search box and more like a colleague who already knows the context.

ANTHROPIC

Anthropic opens an AI office in Seoul

OHMO AI: Anthropic has opened a Seoul office and announced a wave of new partnerships across Korea's AI ecosystem. The company says the office gives a long-term home to its work with the enterprises, startups, and researchers building with Claude.

The details:

  • NAVER has deployed Claude Code across its entire engineering organization, with thousands of engineers now using it, while Nexon uses it to ship code for live games played by millions.

  • Major groups including LG CNS, Hanwha Solutions, and Samsung SDS are rolling Claude out to staff, and startup Channel Corp uses it to power a customer platform serving over 230,000 companies.

  • Anthropic will also give Claude access to up to 60 researchers across a Korean academic consortium spanning KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei, and POSTECH.

Why it matters: Korea is already among the top dozen countries for Claude use. Planting a physical office signals that the race for AI isn't just about models anymore. It's about who builds the deepest roots in the markets actually using them.

Every newsletter, we feature how a reader is using AI to work smarter, save time, or make life easier.

Today's reader is Marta R from Porto, Portugal:

I run a small tile and bathroom renovation business with my husband. The work we love, the paperwork we hate. I used to spend my Sunday nights writing up quotes for clients and half the time I'd forget to include something and lose money on the job. Now I just tell the AI the rooms, the materials, the hours, and it writes the whole quote in proper Portuguese and English for our foreign clients.
